Dr. Routley has helped people find solutions to problems for more than thirty years. He served as the Director of Quad City Counseling Service in Davenport, Iowa for 11 years. He has been in private practice in Dubuque, Iowa since 1990.

Requested Public Speaker and Media Presenter,
with numerous TV and Radio presentations for WOC, WDLM, and WQAD on public issues of parenting, stress management, biofeedback, mental health, and abuse awareness. Dr. Routley is a frequent presenter on marriage and family enrichment to churches and social groups.

Recognized as an Expert by His Peers,
by providing supervision, consultation, and training to licensed professionals in the fields of Cognitive Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Hypnotherapy and Dissociative Disorders. Over twenty years of extensive work with survivors of extreme abuse and torture and the related consequences has provided Dr. Routley the experience that has identified him as an authority on trauma treatment in Iowa and the MidWest. Dr. Routley has also provided supervision, consultation and/or training for dozens of pastors and counselors seeking clinical licensure.

Karin Anderson, M.S.

Iowa Licensed Mental Health Counselor

In 1998, Karin Anderson graduated from Barry University in North Miami, Florida with a Master’s of Science Degree in Counseling.  She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Iowa and Florida; a Qualified Supervisor for Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy in Florida; and is an active member of the National Board of Certified Counselors.    Ms. Anderson continued her education at Barry University and is currently completing a Ph.D. in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. 

 

Ms. Anderson is a bilingual psychotherapist (English and Spanish).  She has a wealth of experience working within the diverse South Florida population, especially in the Latin community.  Karin Anderson has worked with children, adolescence, adults, couples, families and geriatric clients in both the public and private sectors. She has facilitated many group counseling sessions centered on topics such as domestic abuse, anger management, mental health, and substance abuse.  Ms. Anderson has specialized training in domestic abuse, trauma and recovery, and counseling supervision.  Her university education and trainings has been concentrated on family systems, narrative therapy, and brief counseling theories and methods.

 

Karin Anderson has not only been a clinical practitioner but she has experience teaching graduate students in the counseling department at two separate universities.  She has been an adjunct professor at Trinity International University and Barry University.  In 2004-2005 she was a full-time visiting professor and in 2006- 2007 was the coordinator of the Practicum and Internship Mental Health and School Guidance programs at Trinity International University in Davie, Florida.

 

Ms. Anderson has received several distinctions and awards within the field for counseling.  In 1998, during the American Counseling Association National Conference held in Indianapolis, she was awarded the International Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society Counseling Fellowship.  This honor was followed by Barry University selecting her into their Alumni Hall of Fame for Outstanding Achievement in Domestic Violence Counseling and Education in Broward County Florida.  Ms. Anderson, as a member of the Broward County Crisis Response Team and the Florida Crisis Response Team was recognized in 2003 by the State Attorney General of Florida, Charlie Crist, for assisting victims and providing crisis counseling services to Floridians when their daily lives were severely disrupted by Hurricane Charlie.

 

Karin Anderson is a past president of the Beta Upsilon Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society Counseling and she held the office of the presidency for the Barry University Counseling Association.  Within the community, Ms. Anderson has provided consultation for clinicians, churches, and community organizations who have sought out her expertise in matters related to domestic abuse.  Ms. Anderson has also worked in the community by providing counseling workshops related to marriage and family issues and domestic abuse.

 

In 2008, Ms. Anderson joined the private practice of Dr. Lowell Routley.  Her counseling practice in Dubuque has been primarily focused on providing counseling services to individuals, couples, and families.  She is currently engaged in her doctoral research that is focused on domestic abuse within Christian marriages.
